Newtown Square |
Officially designated bike lanes, marked with signs and striping, run along Campus Boulevard in the Newtown Square Corporate Campus. First established as the second bike route in Delaware County, following the "Bicyclists' Baltimore Pike" further south, the installation was later upgraded to bike lanes. The lanes stretch southeast from West Chester Pike to Bishop Hollow Road, where they connect to "bike-friendly" Stoney Brook Boulevard. They provides a safer, marked-off location for bicycling along both sides of Campus Boulevard, since cars are not permitted to drive in the lanes. Since there are no sidewalks in this otherwise car-centric office park, pedestrians find them to be a good place to walk, particularly workers looking for some lunchtime activity.
